Across Kerrville, there are a variety of unique lodging options for your family. Whether you’re seeking a charming cabin on the river or a stay on an iconic Texas ranch, it's all found in beautifully crafted Kerrville. Find your family’s home away from home at Kerrville Texaco. This former Texaco gas station has been reimagined to a truly memorable experience with oil and gas memorabilia and plenty of space to “fill up” on good times with family. For a one-of-a-kind getaway full of fun summer activities, look no further than Kerrville’s Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Guadalupe River. There's a bit of something for everyone at Jellystone with river access, pools, mini golf, and classic summer camp activities like arts and crafts, fishing, and scavenger hunts. While at the resort, stay cool by slipping and sliding down waterslides, splashing around the water playground, and floating the day away at the pool.

Immerse Yourself in the Untouched Hill Country

Established by Kerrville pioneer Charles Schreiner, Y.O. Ranch Headquarters is known as America’s original game ranch and is a preeminent wildlife conservation ranch. The over 12,000-acre ranch houses these animals in truly untouched Texas Hill Country and offers daily tours where you can experience a variety of exotics including gazelles, ostrich, giraffes, and zebras to name a few. You might even get the chance to feed one of the animals a cookie on your tour!

To learn about native plants, birds, and insects, there is no better place in Kerrville than the Riverside Nature Center. The Nature Center began as a small farm and has since blossomed into a wildlife and plant sanctuary with an arboretum of over 140 cacti and wildflower species with a mission to educate visitors on environmental stewardship. Their resident naturalists are there to show you around and point out particularly special species as they teach you the area’s natural history! Stroll the walking trails surrounding the Nature Center to find yourself on the banks of the Guadalupe River, where you can spot all the plants and animals you just learned about.

Show Your Family Kerrville’s Artistic Side

Kerrville is where art and history collide, making it a great place to introduce the kids to culture and craftsmanship in exciting ways. Stonehenge II in nearby Ingram is a unique structure that is a smaller-scale version of the English original and is accompanied by two 13-foot Easter Island head replicas. These exciting landmarks are located beside the Guadalupe River. Take in over 25 art installations along Kerrville’s Public Art Trail, an exciting way to scavenger hunt your way through town and find fantastic photo ops! Be sure to visit the Museum of Western Art to take in the stories of the cowboys through pieces inspired by the American West and artifacts. Within the museum is the Journey West Children’s Gallery that tells the story of the West through the eyes of a child.

Play at the Parks and Splash in the River

Perched on 64 river-front acres is Kerrville’s Louise Hays Park, a sprawling park known for its scenic beauty. The park is a beloved destination for families with activities for all ages. The interactive fountain is a popular spot for the kids to cool off and keep playing on hot summer days. The park also features a playground with swings, slides, and climbing structures. For outdoor enthusiasts, the park offers river access and is connected to Historic Downtown Kerrville by the Kerrville River Trail. For river adventures, Kerrville Kayak & Canoe offers rentals so you can paddle and swim along the river at your own pace. Throughout the summer, Louise Hays comes alive with celebrations during the Concerts by the River series and Kerrville's 4th of the River festival in July featuring fireworks, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Where the Wild Things Are Free to Roam
