In 2020, Sid Grimes left Chicago after five years of performing professionally and, with a grateful nod to the legendary Nashville singers past and present, continued south until she reached her intended destination, Texas, where artists are still encouraged— hell, expected— to make original music straight from the heart.
Her vocal stylings occasionally call to mind certain notes of Neko Case, Natalie Maines, and Alison Krauss, but it’s an original voice and Sid’s signature to each performance and recording.
Currently based in Austin, Sid returned to performing once the pandemic-shuttered venues reopened and hasn’t stopped since, playing solo on the stages of bars, craft-breweries, wineries in Austin, San Marcos, San Antonio, and throughout the Hill Country, including her residency at The Cigar Vault in Buda and Riley's Tavern in Hunter.
