Billy Schenck: Mystic Vision of the West features the art of Billy Schenck, one of the pioneers of the Contemporary Art Movement of the 1960s. Schenck's work, along with the creations of Fritz Scholder and Luis Jimenez, provided a conceptual and aesthetic counterpoint to the traditionalism provided by groups such as the Cowboy Artists of America. Scholder and Jimenez have passed, and Billy Schenck stands alone, or among very few, who offer an alternative point of view in the Western genre. The exhibition features 65 works by Schenck.
