For almost 50 years people have gathered on Quiet Valley Ranch to celebrate the Kerrville Folk Festival. The community greets one another with the phrase, “Welcome Home,” and the bond of this community is like no other. To ask them to wait an entire year before gathering again is simply too long.
Several years ago, fall gatherings were created to shorten the gap. The community nicknamed these fall gatherings, “Little Folk,” due to the smaller crowds. This year, an all-new fall gathering will take place: Welcome Home Fest. It will be intimate, as all programming will be held on Threadgill Theater, and it will take place later in the year when the weather is cooler.
Whether you are a long time Kerrville Folk Festival attendee or are coming to experience Quiet Valley Ranch for the first time, the Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation joyfully welcomes you to take part in Welcome Home Fest.
It is a family-friendly 3-day event that will be held Friday October 11th through Sunday October 13th. The weekend will be full of live music, food vendors, craft vendors, a silent auction, and last but not least, a campground community of music appreciators and players.
Texas artists performing on the Threadgill stage include Flaco Jimenez & Los Texmaniacs, Guy Forsyth and Jeska Bailey, Joe King Carrasco, Walt Wilkins & the Mystiqueros, Beat Root Revival, South Austin Moonlighters, Bob Livingston Trio, Donovan Keith (formerly Soul Track Mind), and Ray Prim Quartet. The talent doesn’t stop there, Welcome Home Fest lineup also includes Shawn Camp, Stephanie Urbina Jones & the Honky Tonk Mariachis, Warren Hood, Pat Byrne, Will Owen Gage, Rachel Laven, Beto & the Fairlanes, Flyin’ A’s, and American Dreamer. Finally, Sunday will start with Gospel from Akina Adderley; don’t miss it! The Foundation is also excited to announce that local Kerr County artists will be performing between Threadgill programming; and, finally, special late-night acoustic showcases are in the works… stay tuned for more details!
