Exotic Game

Exotic Game Guide

Available free from the Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau

As you journey through the Texas Hill Country, you will increasingly see game animals that are not native to the area. A new guide, free from the Kerrville Convention & Visitors Bureau, lists and pictures over 32 game animals, native and non-native, and includes a description of the animals.

Exotic game animals began to be introduced to the Texas Hill Country over sixty years ago. Due to the efforts of Hill Country game ranchers and their diligent wildlife management, there are now vast herds of species that are now endangered and in some cases, extinct in their country of origin.

It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 exotic game animals in the Hill Country of Texas from over 45 different species.
