· New gallery opens at Old Ingram Loop - Guadalupe Art Dogs, a group of 9 talented local artists, opened early December. They describe their works as “eclectic, fun and contemporary” reports one of the founders, Donna Malson. Hours are Wed. – Saturday 10am-5:30pm. Ph: 830 367 7420
· The Hill Country Museum is now under the control of Schreiner University. Their board of directors is exploring the best usage of this Romanesque-style former home of Capt. Charles Schreiner, one of Kerrville’s most prominent residents. The museum is located at 228 Water St., Kerrville. Contact Candice Scott: cscott@schreiner.edu
· History:
o A new Historical Marker for the Great Western Trail has been placed onsite at The Bank of the Hills, Junction Highway, Kerrville. Contact Sue Steele at Bank of the Hills, Junction Highway, Kerrville (830) 895-2265
o A 75-mile Civil War Driving Tour which begins and ends at Camp Verde is available at the CVB offices on downloadable from the CVB website, www.kerrvilletexascvb.com.
· Events:
o Chocolate Fantasy Weekend will be held February 12-14, 2010 at Kerr Arts and Cultural Center. (830)895-2911
o Winter Acoustic Jam Camp, new for 2010, will be held Feb. 5-7, 2010 at Mt. Wesley Conference Center. Organized by the founders of Hill Country Acoustic Music Camp, this is a 3-day camp. www.hcamp.org Contact Bob Miller at 830-459-2120

o The Outdoor Travel Writers (TOWA) will hold their annual conference at the Y.O. Resort Hotel from February 25-27, 2010 www.towa.org
o The Rise Across Texas group will stop in Kerrville during their bike ride across the state, staying at the Inn of the Hills March 11 and 12, 2010. www.riseacrosstexas.org
